THE PORTUMNA FIRE
LORD LASCELLES’ APPEAL TO FREE STATE (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) London, October 10. Lord Lascelles has intimated to the Free State Government that the Princess and himself would deeply regret evenly indirectly causing suffering to anyone in Ireland, and he therefore hoped that a way could be found whereby no vindictive action would be taken against misguided persons suspected of causing the fire at Portumna, who might have considered the visit of Princess Mary and himself to have a political significance.
