PUBLIC NOTICES. WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. XTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that -*-v at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council, held on Thursday, September 13, 1928, the following resolution was passed That the Wellington City Council, pursuant to the prbvisiohS of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and their respective amendments, and in pursuance and exercise of every other Act and authority in that behalf it enabling, doth hereby resolve, by way of Special Order ns follows : — , 1. That a Special Loan of Eleven Thousand eight hundred pounds (£11,800), to bo known as the Wellington City Corporation and Harbour Board Exchange Loan (Hunter Street Block) Renewal Loan, 1928, be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose-of providing funds for repaying the Wellington City Corporation and Harbour Board Exchange Loan of £16,500, Wluch Was raised by the Wellington City Council Ih 1908, for the purpose of jiaying the sum of Sixteen thousand five hundred pounds (£16,500) agreed to be paid by the Wellington City Corporation to the Wellington Harbour Board under a Deed of Agreement, dated the 13th day of June, 1898. ». t t 2 That the rate of interest on the said Loan be not exceeding Five pounds ten shillings (£5 10s.) per. centum per annum, payable half-yearly on the First dhv of May nnd the First day of November in each year during the currency of the loan, being a, period of ten (10)_ yea is from the First day of November, 192 b. 3. That a Sinking Fund of Two pounds (£2) per centum per annum on the amount'of the said Loan be established, in. connection with the said Loan. 4 That the security for the interest, sinking fund, and other charges and repayment of the said -Jjoan be-a special rate of One sixtieth of a penny (l-60d.) in the pound on the'unimproved value of all rateable property within the whole of the Citv of Wellington. NOTICE' OF SPECIAL ORDER.

•WOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a A’ Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council. held on the 27th September, 1928, the following resolution was passed “That the Wellington City Council, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and its Amendments, the ■ Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and its Amendment,, the Lotal Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and its Amendments, and of all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, and in purstiahce of the consent of the Governor-General in Council given by Order-in-Cotinell made pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Loans Bokhl Act. 1926, dated the 19th day of September, 1928, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette of the 20th <iiay of September, 1928, No. 70 at page 2831 doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order:—

1. That a Special Loan of Fifty Thou-* sand Pounds (£50,000); to be known aS “The Wellington City Street Widening L0an,'1928,” be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of meeting the purchase money, .compensation, and expenditure in relation to the purchase or taking of any lands aS authorised in and by Part IV. of the said Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, J 924, as amended by the Wellington City Empowering \ .and "Amendment Act, 1927, and for recouping any moneys expended by the Council for such purposes, and for the purpose of pppstr,ticting and paving; the/Widening,, diversion, alteration or extension of the following streets in the City of Wellington • . Buckle Street, Arthur'Street, Aro Street (Willis Street to Town Belt), Taranaki Street/ Ghuznee Street, ■Hunter Street, Constable Street, Willis Street, Manners ‘'Street, Thorndon Quay, Tory -Street ' Extension, New 66ft. street, Bowen Street and Lambton 'Quay; Brougham Street, Adelaide Road, between Luxford Street and southern ' boundary of T.A. 1100, Rintoul gtreet, Luxford Street, Tory Street" (Courtenay Place to Buckle Street), 60ft, on western ■ side, New Street, Wadestown, Washington’Avenue, Chaytor Street, Marine Parade, Seatoun, Mount Street, Corner Hataifai and Wnitoa Roads, Junction Waipapa and Kainui Roads, Hornsey Road, Queen’s Drive, Mortimer Terrace, Grant Road and Park Street, Brighton and Clyde Streets, Evans Bay Road, Wade and --Lytton Streets, - Wadestown, JohiUSfreet and Hanson Streets, also for the acquisition of properties as circumstances necessitate, or opportunity, .offers in addition to properties in the streets specified. .

2. That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said Special Loan shall not exceed Five Pounds Ten Shillings (£5 10s.) per centum per annum, payable half-yearly during the currency of the said Special Loan, being a period hot exceeding Thirty-six and a half (36J) years from the first day of May, 1929. 3. That a Sinking Fund of One Pound (£1) per centum per annum be established in connection with the said Special Loan.

That the security for tho interest and sinking fund and repayment of the said Special Loan be a Special rate of One-seventeenth of a penny (l/17d.) in the pound made and levied on the rateable value (on the basis of the Unim, proved value) on all rateable property in the City of-Wellington, 5.. That no portion of such interest or sinking fund “be paid but of such Loan moneys. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the resolution will be submitted:for confirmation at an: Ordinary Meeting of the Wellington City Council, to be held on Thursday, the 25th October, 1928, at 7.30 p.m., at the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Cuba Street, Wellington.
