ENGLISH CRICKETERS
STRONG BATTING TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA (Australian Press Assn. —United Service.) London, September 19. The “Morning Post,” in an editorial, says: “Tlie cricketers who are going to Australia have enjoyed a summer of brilliant sunshine, which has been an excellent preparation for the cricket they will have to play in the vivid air and subtropical beat of Australia. Unless we are sadly mistaken or misled by a season of over-easy scoring, no stronger batting side has ever left Britain, and both the bowling and fielding should bo the goods against any necessarily experimental elevens which may represent Australia. Despite the barrage of Australian criticism, which is already beginning, we hope and believe “The Ashes” will remain in our possession.”
