ATHLETIC SPORTS CLUB
> ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Athletic Football Sports Club was held on Tuesday night, Mr. G. 11. Harrison presiding over an attendance of about 35 members. The report and balance-sheet,, which were adopted, showed the club to be in a sound position llnanctaUy, and that the membership was on the increase, 20 new members being elected. It was decided to donate a trophy for the first Athletic rider to finish in the Wellington time-limit cycle road race to be held on September 29. An endeavour is to be made to obtain tho use of the Basin Reserve and Tauera Park, Brooklyn, as training grounds for the coming season. It was also decided to form a ladies’ branch of the club. Tho retiring president, Mr. A. W. O. Travers, was presented with a framed photograph of last year's trophy winners and officers of tho club, suitably engraved. Mr. J. Blair, senior, was presented with the club's badge for services rendered, and letters of thanks are to bo forwarded to Messrs. Collyer, caretaker of Athletic Park, Brewer, caretaker of tho Basin Reserve, and H. W. Thompson, for services rendered.
