SOUTH AUCKLAND DEFEAT OTAGO.

In a League football representative match South Auckland (3G) defeated Otago (12). The ground was in good order. A strong wind blew across the ground. Otago got the ball from every scrum, but the backs showed poor combination. The forwards were fairly even in the open, but the South Auckland backs played all over their opponents and their team work was excellent. Scorers for the winners were S. Raju° r (3 tries), Everest (2), Abbott, Timms, and Jones (a try each) ; Hall converted five tries and kicked a penalty goal. For Otago Clydesdale scored two tries and converted one and kicked a penalty goal; Eckhoff also kicked a penalty.
