GERMAN WAR LOAN SCANDAL
SEVERAL BANKS SAID TO BE IMPLICATED (Australian Press Association.) (Rec. September 6. 7.25 p.m.) Berlin, September 5. The arrest of Stinnes is believed to be the prelude to a bigger scandal. War loan stock if bought before 1920 was worth 15 per cent, gold value. If bought later during Inflation it was only worth 5 per cent. Investigation by the Ministry of Justice allegedly has revealed that banks in Germany.. France, Rumania, and Holland are implicated in the presentation of• the latter category stock as tlie former to the extent of a thousand millions sterling.
