THEFT OF STATE FUNDS
WOMAN GIVEN LIGHT SENTENCE (Rec. September 5, 5.5 p.m.) New York, September 4. A message from Albany states that Mrs. Knapp, convicted of the peculation of State funds, was sentenced to thirty days in gaol. The Judge pointed out that it was due to the fact that her career was ruined and that she had experienced heavy mental suffering that he considered a light sentence adequate.
