MERCANTILE LEAGUE ANNUAL MEETING. The Wellington Cricket League held its annual meeting on Tuesday night, Mr. A. C. Croll presiding. The report stated that the record number of, 22 clubs, with 24 teams, were m the competitions. This caused entries to be split into A and B grades. Cowans team won the A grade championship, and Macky-Logan topped the junior list. The Myers Cup competition resulted in a tie between Customs A and Cowans’ teams. The league’s trophy for the best batting average was won by 11. Murphy, of Odlius, and that for bowling went to A. Tarrant, of Macky-Logans. Mr. Hoods trophy for highest score was won by J. Bolt (Nivens). The balance-sheet showed that the finance:, were in a healthy state. The following new clubs were admitted to the league: —State Advances, State Fire, B. L. Hart and Co., Brownlee, Ltd., James Smith, Todd Motors, Hope Gibbons, and Hyains, Vacuum Oil and Gollins withdrew. The election of officers resulted: —Patron, Hon. 11. A. Wright; president, Mr. A. G.
