CANTERBURY MARKETS

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Christchurch. September 4. Potatoes have again fallen in price, this Hine to the extent of 10s. per ton, the price to farmers on trucks at country stations being £4 to £4 10s. The Kurow is taking 4000 sacks from Lyttelton on top of between 6000 and 7000 sacks from Tiniaru, and the Kartigl is to take another 4000 sacks. There is still a cousiderahle quantity of potatoes in store at Lyttelton, which will be dispatched from time to time as shipping space becomes available. It would appear that the potato trade is just about finished so far as the South Island is concerned, as at an early date the Pukekohe main crop will be coming ou the market. The seed market is extremely quiet, and prices in all lines are unchanged. Practically no business is being done with the North Island or with Australia.
