POLICE REPORT SATISFACTORY The quarterly meeting of the Wellington Licensing Committee was held yesterdav. Those present were the chairman (Mr. W. G. Riddell,'B.Jl.). Messrs. K Meadowcroft. JI. Carr. G. Petlierick, . I. Clark, and J. W. Ellison. The chairman said that the police report upon the conduct of the hotels in the district was very satisfactory, lhe committee was glad to hear this, and hoped that this state of affairs would continue. . \ . The following renewals were granted. —Levi Smith, Clyde Quay Hotel; Ihomas Moran, Shamrock Hotel. The following applications for new licenses were approved:—Jlichael Gourley, Prince of Wales Hotel; Alasdair Macdonald, Carlton Hotel. The transfers of the licenses of the Terminus Hotel from S. Edilson to S. F. Mockett, and of the Brunswick Hotel from W. Hunnafin to R. Berryman were approved.
