TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.

Meteorological Office, Wellington, August 3, 4 p.m. A southern depression has now crossed the South Island, and a moderate anti-cyclone is approaching over the north iasman Sea. Moderate to strong west to south-west winds, reaching gale force at times in exposed positions, but decreasing gradually. Rather rough to rough seas in New Zealand waters, more especially on the West Coast, and strong west to southwest winds and rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather still changeable and squally in most parts of the Dominion, with some scattered showers mainly in districts with a westerly aspect, but improving. Cold temperatures with frosts in the South Island.
