Intricate dresses, greater formality and decoration—in a word, the return to “style”— present a hundred difficulties for the untalented aud tasteless, and there are a great number of amateur clothes being shown , that have no right to be taken seriously. The new inodes call for a firm technical foundation and an intelligent sense of restraint and selection. Most desirable French shoes for day and evening wear are still obtainable at Castel Jaloux , Ltd., although there are not many pairs left. Umbrellas with novel glass knobs are in bright rainproof colours and very fashionable. A three-piece suit in grey and fawn jersey wool has a tinsel stripe, and Is a useful spring mode. Two- spring eoats in full-length models are in finely-checked canvas tweed in warm brown and red shades, with a fine check dqsign on the outside and strijied on the reverse. An attractive top coat is of beige face cloth lined with matching crepe de chine and trimmed with a collar of Lynx fur.— xkdvt. • I
