A WIDER TORY STREET
SIXTY-FOOT BUILDING LINE
Possible future developments in lory Street were revealed in a recommendation of the Works Committee to the City Council last night, aiming at creating a new building line for the purpose of widening the street to 60ft. The recommendation was as follow:— inat a building line by-law be adopted to enable Tory Street to be widened to 60ft. from Courtenay Place to Buckle Street, the widening to take place on the western side of the street. On the adoption of this by-law the Public Works Department to be requested to remove the present restrictions on certain portions of Tory Street which are subject to the 33ft. building line condition, and grant unconditional exemption along the eastern side of the street.’ Councillor H. D. Bennett said the recommendation was the outcome of a report from the town-planning officer to the city engineer, and passed on to the committee. The recommendation was adopted.
