PILGRIMAGE TO BATTLEFIELDS

Twenty New Zealanders are accompanying the British Legionaries’ pilgrimage to the French anti Belgian battlefields on Saturday. At Paris, at the ceremony of rekindling the Avenue Triomphe Flame of Remembrance, Captain Stewart will represent New Zealand. All are participating in the ceremony at the Menin Gate. Ind giiation is expressed at the Socialist Mayor of Lille’s refusal to allow the municipal theatre to be used for a concert to the British Legion pilgrims. The concert will be held in the open air in the Grand Place.
