ELECTION OF NEW MEMBERS An election to fill several vacancies on the Wellington Education Board, caused by the retirement of members in rotation has resulted in the return of the following:-— ■ Wellington urban area: Charles Henry William Nicholls (re-elected), 123 votes; Alexander Charles Blake, 96 votes. Hutt-Pet6ne urban area: James Stonehouse (re-elected), 37 votes. Hutt-llorowhenua area: Arthur William Hutchings. 89 votes. Wairarapa Ward: Alexander Donald, 219 votes. Marlborough Ward: William Davies Pike, re-elected unopposed. The unsuccessful candidates wove:— Wellington urban area : Willie Ernest Howe, 81 tjotes. Hutt-Petone area: Jonathan Reynolds Carey. 23 votes. HuttHorowhcniia area : William John Barlow, 82 votes: Frederick Charles Meyer. 22 votes. Wairarana : George Godfrey Taylor, 98 votes; William Ileury Jackson, 96 votes.
‘The candidates whose election is announced will hold office for four years, the remaining members of the board retiring in 19.30.
