A WORLD TOUR
A RUN THROUGH TWO CONTINENTS MR. T. M. WILFORD RETURNS Greatly improved in health as a result of his extended tour abroad, Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., returned by the Mauuga'nui last night. “Where have I been?” said Mr. Milford when approached by a “Dominion” representative. “Ask me where have I not been and it will be more easy to tell you.” ‘ “Accompanied by Mrs. Wilford and .Miss Wilford, I first travelled through Canada, and then proceeded to Europe, stopping at Haalern and Amsterdam in Holland; Brussels in Belgium; Cologne and Nuremberg in Germany; Vienna in Austria; Budapest .in Hungary; and then through Jugo-Slavia, Italy, and France to London, where I spent my time in the House of Commons, where I renewed acquaintance with the leaders of the three political parties. “While in London, I addressed the members of the Empire Parliamentary Association in the House of Commons on Pacific questions, Sir Robert Horne presiding and I also delivered an address on the same subject to members of the Canadian Parliament. / ‘‘l visited Portsmouth as the guest of the Parliamentary party, and saw the latest in submarines, destroyers, and battleships, side by side with the old Victory. . “I golfed at Troon, Prestwick, and St. Andrew’s; visited Glasgow and Edinburgh; and left Liverpool for New Zealand via the United States, where, at the Democratic and Republicans congresses they passed resolutions in favour of ‘prohibition between drinks’.” The pleasure of the trip was dampened by a serious accident to Mr. M ilford's son in London. The latter was just convalescing after a serious major operation, when the motor-car in which he was riding collided with a motor-lorry, and Mr. Wilford, jun., had his head badly cut and his shoulder broken. Mrs. M’ilford remained in London to nurse her son. “The best part of the trip,” declared Mr. M’ilford, “was to-night, as I have just, received a cablegram from my daughter Isohel, in London, announcing that she has been given a star part in lan Hay’s new play, which opens in London on August 14.”
