PUBLIC NOTICES. AVELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. ■\TOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Monday, the 30th day of July, 1928, the following resolution was passed:— ... “The AVellington City Council pursuant to the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1926, and their respective Amendments, and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers (if any) it enabling doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order:— 1 That a Special Loan of Fifteen Thousand Pounds (£15,000), to be known as “The AVellington City Unemployment Loan No. 2, 1928,” be raised by the AVellington City Council for the purpose of carrying out public works tor the relief of unemployment, namely : — (a) Widening and formation works at Glenmore Street, Salamanca Road, and Kelburn Parade, Brooklyn Roads (Washington Avenue and Ohiro Road. Thompson Street to Brooklyn Road), approaches to Northland Tunnel. Wadestown Roads (AVadestown Road widening and Wade Street Extension), Point Halswell Road, Auckland Terrace, View Road to Haughton Bay Road, McKenzie Terrace, Rongotai Terrace, and Aberdeen Quay, Liardot Street, and McColl Street. Old Porirua Road, Campbell Street, Cooper Street. Donald Street, Gipps Street, and Karori Road, between Campbell Street and Donald Street. Lucknow Terrace (extension), Albert Street. (b) Formation Nairnville Park, Kaiwarra Park. Lyall Bay Reserve. (e) Tree planting. the object of the Local Authority in undertaking such street work and planting and formation work being primarily to provide employment for men who would otherwise be without employment or with- ] out sufficient employment to enable them to maintain themselves and their families in a reasonable condition of comfort. 2. That the interest on the said Loan be at a rate not exceeding Five pounds ten shillings (£5 10s.) per centum per annum, payable half-yearly during the currency of the said Loan, being a period not exceeding Ten (10) years from the 30tb day of September, 1928. 3. That a sinking fund of not less than One pound (£1) per centum per annum be established in connection with the said Loan. 4. That the security for the interest, sinking fund, and other charges and repayment of the said Loan be. a special rate on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Wellington so calculated as to yield interest and sinking fund, and other charges on the said Loan, and 10 per cent, additional on these amounts. 5. That One hundred and fifty (150) debentures, each for One hundred pounds (£100) and relative coupons in a form in conformity with the Local Bodies Loans Act. 1926, be executed, sealed and issued. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the resolution will lie submitted for confirmation at a special meeting of the AVellington City Council, to be held oh Tuesday, the 14th day of August, 1928, at 4.30 p.m., nt the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Cuba Street, Wellington, and that any person having any objection to the proposed Loan should set forth the same in writing and lodge same with the Town Clerk at his Office, Town Hall, Cuba Street, AVellington. not later than 4.30 p.m. on the 13th day of August, 1928.
