MEETING OF HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION. A general meeting of the Upper Hutt Home and .School Association was held on Monday night. The president, Mr. Hunt, presided. Correspondence was read from the secretary of the school committee (Mr. Moran) stating that the most urgent requirements were a new infant and manual training school ami the establishment of a dental clinic. These two objects were approved by the association, and it was decided that a letter be sent through the school committee from tlie Home and School Association requesting that the Minister of Health, the Hon. ,1. A. Young, or his representative pay tlie school a visit and see whether it was fitting that nearly eighty young children should be cramped Into one room for live hours daily. The Government compelled parents to semi their children to school, therefore they should provide suitable accommodation for them. Concerning a dental clinic, it Was stated that there are at present eleven hundred children living within a reasonable area, which a clinic would serve, if swell were established. It was decided that a deputation comprising Messrs. Turner, Hunt, Greig, Itobertson and Moran be asked to wait upon tlie Hon. A. D. Over four hundred circulars had been sent out to parents in the Upper Hutt and Trentliam districts, and regret, was expressed that the parents did not show more interest in their children by backing up the Home ami School Association and attending Hie general meeting, when invited to do so.
