The influence of Benuic Osler, the African wizard half and “potting” expert, has been much in evidence at the senior matches-on the last Saturday or two, and whenever a player “potted,” successfully, or otherwise, somebody would call out two words: “Bennie Osler.” A freak calf, normal in every respect except that it had two backbones and two distinct heads, was born recently on Mr. H. Hancock’s farm at Richmond Road, Lepperton (says the “Taranaki News”). The two backbones started from its hips and the two heads projected from the shoulders. The animal did not live. , . According to the Tapanui “Courier, one of the most remarkable incidents that has occurred in the district for many years, if ever before, is the arrival ot over 30 young lambs on Mr. J.. Crawford’s property at Waikoikoi during the last few weeks. The lambs survived stormy weather experienced recently. It is not unusual for young lambs to make their appearance towards the end ot this month or early in August, but then only in small numbers.
