■FrVftNtY-SfX MILES ROAD RACE.
The Port Nlcholtou cycling Club held a twenty ; tit miles road race under ideal conditions on Saturday Afternoon, the course being ftojn the Petone J?"*"” sheds to Quinns Post and back. Twentyfive riders competed. After an exciting sprint up the straight, a bunch of six riders fropi the limit and 5| minute marks crossed the finishing line ahnost simultaneously. The results are as follow.— D. Evans (Si min.), time Ihr. Omln. 31 sec. ahd W. J. Drleberg (Bimin.), ihr. jlmln. Isec., dead-beat ...... 1 A. T. Hart (6Jmfe>, lhr - llmln - 1 1-5 , sec. 8 Fastest time, H. J. Morris Ihr6mln. 56sec. second fastest time, S Bellman (liinin.), Ihr. 6mln. oBsec. Third fastest time, L. J. Manning (l|min-), Ihr. 7m in 27sec. ,t Fnllth, who fiuiehed in seventh place, Oollid»d with a spectator after ••rossing the lino and had to receive mm|icnl attention before he was removed to Ills home.
