WARSHIP DAMAGED

STRIKES UNCHARTED ROCK (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, July 13. The Admiralty reports that the battleship Warspite yesterday afternoon struck an uncharted obstruction near Repi Island lighthouse. The vessel sustained slight damage, three double-bottom compartments being flooded. She will probably have to return to Malta to be docked. The Warspite is a battleship of the Queen Elizabeth class, and Is the flagship of Vice-Admiral Kelly, second in command of the Mediterranean Fleet. She is of 27,500 tons, armed with eight 15in. guns. She took part in the Battle of Jutland.
