CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
MASTERTON CLUB. Dominion Special Service. Masterton, July 14. The Masterton Gun Club held a sweepstake at its grounds to-day, when seventeen members competed. Weather conditions were good, with sufficient wind to make the shooting interesting. Results are as follow: — . F. Miller (16yds.), 18; J. P. Byrne (14yds.), 18; D. McLachlan_(l7yds.), !•; J. Laurenson (15yds.), 17; R- ABuick (IGvds.), 16; R. Bmck (19yds.), 16; H. J. Nitz (17yds.), 16. Ten others competed. Miller and Byrne, in breaking the possible number, showed great form. The latter broke the 18 birds with his first barrel. A second sweep of 12 birds was won by D. McLachlan, who broke the possible. Nitz, Broughton, Byrne, and Ingley being one down.
