The Largest Sand Pits
A very old-established firm in Tonks and Andrews, sand, gravel, and cartage contractors, Yule and Coutts Streets, Kilbirnie, were entrusted with the carting ■’ the gravel and sand required f-r the new theatre. Tonks and Andrews are the owners of the largest sand-pits in Wellington, and by real service have built, up a large business in this necessary, commodity. At one time they employed as many as 60 1 . ses, but to-day motor-trucks have tak; i the place'of a number of t' ?se.
