International debating amongst the universities ot England and America has not only incited great interest between these two countries, but lias brought them into doser relationship. The originator ot these International contests, Bates College, bis now sent three ot its members on a world tour. They will arrive in Wellington on Friday morning, and that night they will take the affirmative against Victoria College on the question, “That the American Policy of Prohibition is Desirable.” The members ot the team, Messrs.. Melvin Llovd Ames. John Frederick Davis, and Clia'rlcs Hunter Guptill. left, Maine on May 1> and after visiting Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia. South Africa, and England, they will arrive home again in November.
