THEIR EXCELLENCIES IN WANGANUI Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, June IS. On Sunday morning bis Excellency the Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson and Lady Alice Fergusson, accompanied by their daughter, Mrs Haviland, and Captain Orr Ewing, attended St. Peter's Anglican Church, Gonville. The service was conducted by the vicar, the Rev. D. B, Malcolm, who was assisted by Mr R. _Tilley, lay reader. The lessons were read by Dr. I’orritt and Mr F. Hayward. Prior to the service, his Excellency inspected the Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Brownies, and cubs of the St. Peter’s Troop, to whom he addressed a few words, congratulating them on their turm-it, and exhorting them to be true to the ideals of the movement to which they belonged. After the service the boys and girls of he troop formed up in two lines outside the church door, through -which the official party proceeded to the gate. Three cheers were called for their Excellencies. and were responded to with animation.' A portion of the afternoon was spept by their Excellencies in visiting the'Art Gallery, where they, were accompanied by Mr L. Cohen. Their Excellencies were very pleased with tlie exhibits, and Cady Alice Fergusson selected one of Mr Clanleigh Barton's pictures for herself.

On Saturday evening the GovernorGeneral was present at. a Masonic gathering; and Lady Fergusson was entertained by members of the Vic‘toria League. Tins morning their Excellencies visited the Wanganui Woollen mills, and the Wanganui Spiral Pipe and Lock Bar Companies’ works. They were accompanied by Captain OrrEwing A.D.C., the Mayor (Mr AV. J. Rogers), and Mr W. A. Veitch, M.P. Ou arrival at the woolleu mills, the party were met by Mr A. G. Bjguell (chairman of directors), Mr Robert Russell (managing director l. and Mr A. Robinson (director). The party made a comprehensive tour of the mills under the guidance of Mr A. B. Arnott, mill manager. Their Excellencies displayed the keenest interest in the intricate machinery and the various processes through which the wool had to pass to become the finished article. Prior to leaving the mills. Hie management presented a pair of blankets to her ExceUency, ami a rug to his Excellency. The party then visited Hie Spiral Pipe ami Lock Bar Company's works, al Gonville, and were conducted round the works by the manager (Mr A. Pratt). At both places their Excellencies chatted freely with Hie employees. His Excellency was entertained Io lunch by tlie Wanganui H'otary Club.
