Twcntv-fire thousand people witnessed the Engiish League footballers’ defeat by Queensland. The first half was fairly evenly contested, but Queensland's superiority was shown in the scores, 10—4, n| baittime*. On resuming; Laws, Queensland s *-’*”■ tr* retired hurt. Armbruster lined the gap, but. in a momentary indecision regurdlng a pass, Fairclough seized the opportunity and scored cleverly. Ibis brought England within three points of the Queenslanders. Shortly afterwards Butgoes, who war, captaining the Englishmen in Parkin's absence, was ordered oft after being cautioned earlier. Towards the close, Sellars, a Queenslander, was also ordered off. The game in its later stages was marked by a good deal of roughness. Though the Englishmen made a good dofence, Queensland had things much their own way.
