As compared with the corresponding month of last year British imports for April decreased £3,799,000; exports increased £2,053,000, and re-exports decreased £859,000. . The principal decreases in imports were: Grain and flour. £1.105.000: iron and steel manufactures, £932,000; rubber, £2.013,000. In exports the chief decreases were: Coal, £872.000. . . • The principal increases in impoi ts were: Non-dutiable food and drink. £1.202.000.
In exports, the chief increases were: Cotton yarns and manufactures, £384,; 000; vehicles, £1.065,000.
