.Dominion , Special Service; q. A Nelson. May 11. At a special meeting of the City Council last evening it was decided to strike a general rate for the ensuing year of Is. Sd. in the £l, an increase of'ld. over last year’s general rate. Special rates will be Is. sd. in the £l, plus -a hospital rate of .31d. in the £l, a-total of 3s. 4>}d. Last year the special rates and the hospital rate were Is. sd. and 4Jd. respectively. The total is the same as that struck last year.
