POLICE AND SUMMONS CASES Police and summons cases in the Magistrate's Court yesterday were dealt with by Mr. E. Page. S.M. Peter O’Malley, alias Swanson, alias Sawyers, alias Clarke, who pleaded guilty Io a sixth statutory offence of drunken; ness, was sentenced to fourteen days imprisonment. SUMMONS CASEE. C. Greenwood, who was charged with failing to keep a holiday book, with failing to observe the statutory hall-holiday, and witli failing to keep a wages and time book, was hued £1 and 10s. costs on each charge. failure to close their shops at the proper time cost W. E. Boyd, Au Young and Co., and K. Lancaster £1 each anil costs. On a similar charge, Plant and Bennett were lined 10s. and costs. Wah On was lined £2 and costs for selling cigarettes after hours. failure to take necessary precautions at the liuuny Street railway crossing cost Arthur .John Tilbury £2. On a charge of using obscene language, Gilbert Frank Tabernacle' was fined £1 and costs. On a charge of selling liquor after hours, Michael Gourley, 'licensee of the Prince of Wales Hotel, was fined £5 Is. and costs. Security for appeal was fixed at ,I'IU 10s. plus the cost of the fine. Patrick Lockett, who pleaded not guilty to being found on licensed premises after hours, was fined £2.
