SOCIAL NOTES

TOWN AND COUNTRY Miss Randolph; of Palmerston N6rth, is visiting Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Fuller, of Palmerston North, have gone to Napier for a motor tour. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Tennant, of Palmerston North, have been spending Easter at Plimmertou. Mr. and Mrs. K. Glendinning, of T’almerston North, are on a motor tour through Hawke’s Bay. Miss Hewitt left on Sunday for Vancouver, where she will spend a short holiday. Miss Charbonneaux, who is paying a visit to New Zealand, has returned from Mount Cook, and is the guest of Mrs. C. J. Monro, of Palmerston North. Miss Janet Nelson, of Hawke’s Bay, is the guest of Mrs. Daniell, of Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. Grigor, of Palmerston North, have been visiting Hastings for Easter. , Mr. and Mrs. S. J. B. Bennett and family, of Taikorea, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Hodder, of Masterton. Miss A. Green, of Palmerston. North, is spending her annual holidays in New Plymouth. The death occurred at Hawera on Saturdav of Mrs. F. D. Oxley, wife of Mr F. D. Oxley, of the Bank of New Zealand staff at Manaia, Taranaki. The deceased had been ill only a brief period, but underwent a serious operation from which she failed to rallv She took a keen interest in tennis and other social activities of the district, and her loss will be felt bv a wide circle of friends. Much sympathy will be felt with Mr. Oxlev and his two-year-old daughter in their loss. According to reports received, Madame Menere is meeting with quite a furore in the South Island, where her lew shipment of furs in the verv latest mode is selling very rapidly. Madame Menere will be commencing her North Island tour at an early date.—Advt.
