BROADCASTING AND TRENTHAM RACES

Sir, —Kindly allow me space to record my appreciation of the service rendered listeners by the Broadcasting Company in connection with the recent Wellington Racing Club meeting. To Mr. Allardyce, the company’s official sports announcer, unstinted praise is due for his excellent running narrative of the days’ sport. Listeners throughout New Zealand were gratified to learn that the Wellington Racing Club officials and the Broadcasting Company were able to come to an amicable arrangement, and I feel sure that the officials of both parties must be gratified at the results obtained. Trentham received a wonderful advertisement, and it should prove an incentive to other sports bodies to follow the good example of the Wellington Racing Club. —1 am, etc., “A LOVER OF SPORT.” Wellington, March 20.
