Mr, A, Fletcher, vice-president ot the chamber, presided, and was supported Ly the Hon. W. Downie Stewart, Minister of Customs; Mr. P. J. Horan, of the Commonwealth Customs Department: Mr. *> G. A. Troup (Mayor); Mr. HIL Irving, private secretary to Air. Pratten; Mr. D. McGowan. Mr. .7. W. Collins, secretary tn the Department of Industries and Commerce: Mr. G. Craig. New Zealand Controller of Customs; and Mr F. Hotildsworth, Auckland Chamber of Commerce. The chairman said the visit of the Hon. Fl. E. Pratten was a momentous one. Thev would all agree that trade across the Tasman should be as frep as possible, ; and that they should break down many of the existing artificial barriers |o that end ~ , The. visiting F-mister was the only other speaker.
