JAPANESE ELECTION
FIRST UNDER EXTENDED FRANCHISE INTENSE PUBLIC INTEREST (Rec. February 20, 9.50 p.m.) Tokio, February 20. To-day! first general election under the extended suflrage laws is absorbing public interest. Polling commenced early in the morning and is proceeding in orderly fashion, although excitement is increasing. It is generally expected that the Seiyukai party will exceed the Minseito party, but will be unable to secure an absolute majority of all parties.
