TO-DAY’S H.\WKE CUP MATCH. Wanganui, February 20. At Cook’s Gardens,-at 11 a.m. to-njqr-row, the Wanganui representative cricket team will commence their fourth match tins season for the Hawke Cup, which they won from Taranaki early ’ll December, and have since successfully defeuded against the challenges of Poverty Bay aud Waikato. The challengers to be met are Mauawatu, aud since the visiting team is reported to be a strong combination, the match should prove to be a very keenly contested one. Although the Wanganui team will be considerably weakened by the absence of Bunny, F. C. Hutchison, and U. G. Williams, they are still strong in batsmen, and are confident that they will be able to retain the trophy. The match will be the last that Wanganui will be called on to play this season in defence of ihe Hawke Cup. The Wanganui eleven will be as follows:— E. H. Bernau, A. J. Darby, C. A Holland, J. L. Kerr, G. Orr (captain), R. I. Sewell, H Symes, E Tltakabou, C. F. Treadwell, H. Williams, L. A. Wood. The umpire will be Mr. K. Cave, and the scorer Mr. L. S. Gordon.
