RAPID PREPARATIONS VISIT OF FLYING BOATS Rangoon, February 17. The Royal Air Force supcfnianne flying boats,' journeying to Australia, have reached Penang. ' Singapore reports that the flying boats will be the first ’planes to use the Singapore air base when they arrive. A labour force, of fifteen hundred has made rapid progress in the past eight, months. Six hundred acres of jungle have been cleared, and the steel work is arriving shortly for the construction of two hangars, and the landing ground of two hundred acres is expected to be finished in twelve months. A concrete seaplane slipway will shortly be completed.— A.P.A. and “Sun.”
