CORONER TO VIEW SCENE OF ACCIDENT. Dominion Special Service. Christchurch, February 18. A motion of sympathy with the widow and family of H. G. Grose, who died as the result of injuries sustained in a shunting accident at; the Middleton marshalling yard last evening, was passed at a largely attended special meeting of the Shunters’ Council held this afternoon. The circumstances leading up to the accident, and the working conditions at the Middleton yard were freely discussed. A further meeting will be held later for the purpose of continuing the discussion. Frequently have the shunters engaged at the new Middleton marshalling yards expressed their dissatisfaction with the apprehension of serious accidents at the method of assembling and shunting goods wagons. An inquest in connection with the accident was opened this morning before the Coroner (Mr. E. D. Mosley). George Ballington Grose, a brother o' the deceased, gave evidence that his brother had always enjoj ed good health. The 'inquest was adjourned sine die for the Coroner to visit the scene of the accident.
