The weather was fine but dull. There was a good attendance. Some fast times were recorded. The totalisator handled 1144,972, compared with <£46,151 last year. Nelson Fame attempted to lower the mile mile record of 2min. 3 3-ssec., but fell after completing the first half in 59 3-ssec.
