—Following ropresentalions made by the North Island Motor Union, “Safety First’’ messages are to be broadcast from radio station 2YA, 'Wellington. A message will bo broadcast nightly, one making a particular appear to pedestrians, another fo motorists, while there are also to be special messages for cyclists and all drivers. A typical one for everybody is, “Many accidents are caused by sending the body out to work and the minds to play. Safety first. It is not generally known that a very fine kauri tree is growing on (he Mission grounds ai Otaki (says an exchaiigoi. The tree, which is about 20 foot high, is considered to lie about 35 years old. Another fine kauri may be scon at Waikanao.
