There was again a large attendance at the second and concluding day of the annual rani fair of the Masterton A. and P. Association. Stud Southdowns and Lincolns, as well as flock animals of the same breeds, constituted the largest offerings, Romney .Marsh having been disposed of yesterday. The highest price of the day was lOOgns. paid by N. Rayner (Masierton) for a stud Southdown ram, offered by C. E. Vile through Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., next best price being 75gns., paid by J. Knight (Feilding) for a Southdown ram by the same vendor, while W. T. Hume (Pirinoa) paid 70gns. for a Southdown ram vended by Ellis Bros. SOUTHDOWNS. Lincoln flock rams offered numbered 121 in pens of from one to six the total amount received from sales being 3291 gns., and the average price was 2Jgns. Chief purchasers were D. Riddiford (Hinakura), A. Robertson (Mfartinborough), and McLaren Estate (Bush Gully). SOUTHDOWNS. Flock Soutlidown rams proved the largest class, 501 sales being effected for a total of IGfOJgns., making an average of 3Jgns. per ram. The highest price of 22gns. was paid by J. H. Percy (Bideford) for a ram offered by D. I. Ingley, the next highest being 201gns., paid by R. Jackson for a rani vended by P. D. McLachlan. A few pens of flock Southdown ewes also were offered, these going at low prices. Four pens of Hock Border Leicesters found no sale. DAIRY PRODUCE Messrs. Dalgetq and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under (late February 16. (Last week’s quotations are shown in parentheses.):— Butter.—We quote Danish, 183 s. to 1645. (178 m. to 180 s.); New Zealand finest salted, 1625. to 1645. LIVE STOCK SALES FEILDING EWE FAIR BY TELEGBAPH.—PHES3 ASSOCIATION. Feilding, February 17. The annual ewe lair was held to-day. There was the usual large attendance from all the surrounding districts. Although quite a number of advertised lines did not come forward, there was a heavy yarding. The majority of the ewes were up to the usual Feilding standard in regard to quality. At the start ,of the sale, bidding was slow, but it livened up considerably as Ihe sale progressed, and sheep were selling at a decidedly higher parity towards the end of the sale. Prices realised were at least ss. per head above that at last year’s ewe fair. Good four-year ewes made from 235. to 265. 7d., good four and five-year ewes sold at 225. 6d. to 245., medium ditto, 19s. 6d. to 225., inferior 15s. to 195., good five-year-old ewes from 20s 6d. to 235. 6d., very fair mixed age ewes 235. 6d. to 255. 6d., good four-tooth ewes, 31s. 3d. to 325. 9(1., medium six-tooth ewes 255. to 275. 9d. Two-tooth ewes drew a lot of attention and sold remarkably well, selected pens making from 335. up to 395. 3d., this price being the highest at auction. Medium two-tooth ewes met witli very keen demand, and realised from 275. 6d. to 325. 6d. Messrs. Dalgetq and Company. Limited, report having a very fair entry of sheep at their Taihape sale on Wednesday. Quotations are as follow:—Four and fivelear ewes, 175,, 265. 20s. 3(1.. 21s. 6d., 21s. 9d ; failing mquth ewes, 10s. 4d. to 145.; cull lambs. 7s. 9d.; two-tooth wethers, small, 19s. 6d.; bull, £4 17s. 6d.
