BRITISH TRADE

IMPORTS AND EXPORTS FOR DECEMBER

Rugby, January- 11. Preliminary figure's of the Board of Trade ’ returns show that the imports for December amounted to £105,000,000, compared with £107,000,000 in November. and £134,000,000 in December, 1925, which is taken for comparison owing to 1926 having been affected by labour troubles. The exports for December amounted to £59,000,000, against £70,000,000 in November, and £89,000,000 in December, 1925. It is pointed out in regard to the figures for December, 1927, that the Christmas holidays’ period should be taken into account, and also the weather in the latter part of the year, which impeded land transport and held up shipping.—Britirh Official Wireless.
