Photograph shows the rapid progress being made in the work of demolishing the old buildings on the site on which the new D.I.C. premises are to be erected. The section at left where motor--lorrv is standing was the site of the Bristol Piano Company’s premises; the partly demolished building at right is the old Lambton Quay frontage of the D.I.C. As both these premises stood intact during the Christmas shopping season, and were thronged with customers it may be gathered that the work of demolition has been very rapid. -L. Wallace
