When the crew of the Adelaide Company’s steamer Momba learned that the company was transferring cargo from the Ormiston to the Momba they gave notice and the vessel lias been added to the idle list. A meeting of the Seamen’s Union held to consider the situation decided to man, all ships pending a conference with the inter-State owners, when the log will be discussed. The meeting was verv stormy, a large section of the men demanding prolongation o( the dispute nd the implication of ail shipping. GENERAL RESUMPTION EXPECTED (Rec. January 12, 10.40 p.m.) Sydney, January 12. Following on the seamen's meeting, the crew of the Momba withdrew their notices. It is expected the seamen’s decis ion is meroly preliminary to a gener- < al resumption of work on all strike [affected vessels. \ ULTIMATUM BY OWNERS \ PRESENT AGREEMENT MAY BE RENOUNCED (Rec. January 12, 8.10 p.m.) Melbourne, January 12. A meeting of the Commonwealth Steamship Owners’ Association resolved that unless, the vessels in all ports now requiring part or full crews are manned on or before Monday next, the association will renounce the present agreement and all future engagements under the new articles will be on such conditions and terms as prescribed by the owners.
