YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES

A sale of New Zealand Guarantee Corporation ordinary shares at Bs. lid. reported at the morning call was the only transaction recorded yesterday. There was a fair demand for Government stocks, with buyers of the 4} per cents, at £96 15s. and the 5| per cents, at £lOl 2s. 6d. Wellington Racing Club debentures were firm at £lO6 10s. Bank shares were in better demand than on the previous day. There were bids of £6 14s. ex dividend for National Bank of New Zealand, £45 10s. for Bank of New South Wales,s9s. for Bank of New Zealand, and £l4 10s. cunt dividend for Union Bank.
