Auckland’s pigeon population is a diminishing quantity (states the “Sun”). Formerly the old clock tower on the insurance buildings in Queen Street was a home for several score of pigeons. The Ferry Building tower was also soon occupied by bird tenants when it was erected. Now the birds number a bare score; probably because the motor has replaced the horse and supplies of grain food have vanished.
