January 9, 4 p.m. An anti-cyclone is situated over New Zealand and the Tasman Sea. ■ Light to moderate variable winds, chiefly south-easterly, north of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, and south-westerly elsewhere, but westerly about the Foveaux Strait region. Weather fair to fine and warm.
