TAMAHINE’S WEEK-END CRUISE

The pleasure of a cruise through the Queen Charlotte and Pelorous Sounds, with ample opportunities for fishing, swimming, tramps through the bush, and picnicking schemes was fully appreciated by those who made the week-end excursion by the Tamahine. Carrying a large number of passengers, including several visitors from Australia, the Tamahine left Wellington at 1.15 p.m. on Saturday for Queen Charlotte Sound to Picton. The evening was spent in dancing on board the vessel. Tn the early hours of the morning the Tamahine left Picton for Tennyson Inlet (at the head of Pelorous Sound). The Tamahine cruised back to Picton in the afternoon, slowing up and drawing inshore at Ship Cove, the historical spot of the Sounds, where stands a memorial to Captain Cook. Reaching Picton about 5 p.m., the vessel left again about an hour later, arriving at Wellington shortly before 10 o'clock last night.
