CRIME CONVICTIONS
AGAINST SOLDIERS AND SAILORS ERASURE ADVOCATED London, January 6. A Grand Jury at Birmingham passed a resolution declaring that convictions recorded against soldiers and sailors killed in the Great War-"should be erased. The Recorder, Sir. Henry Maddocks, said that the idea appealed to him as common justice. It might also be urged that living ex-servicemen should receive similar treatment. A free pardon did not remove a record; it needed an Act of Parliament to do that.—Sydney “Sun” Cable.
