He went for a bathe with his elder brother, Clarence Herbert Hibbs, who when he noticed Angus in difficulties made a gallant attempt at rescue. His efforts exlia-nst-ed him, and lie struggled to tlie bank in a state of collapse, lying practically insensible for ten minutes. The body of Angus was later recovered in-eight feet of water. At tlie inquest a verdict of accidentally drowned was returned.
