GAMES AT MASTERTON.
Masterton, January 7. A closely-contested match resulted todav, when Gibson, Carr, Finlayson, and Bell (s.) defended the Bell Shield for the Masterton Park Club aaginst a challenge from the Masterton Club, which was represented by Welch, Blewett, Rowlands, and Nielsen (s.). The holders retained the lead until the thirteenth head, when the challengers caught up to within one point of them. On the last head Nielsen needed two to tie and three to win, but Bell scored a single and thus won 21—21. Two Park Club rinks met in contest for the Daniell Cup, the result being a win for Vincent, Blane, Finlayson, and Gibson (s.), who defeated Hawke, Ackerman, Carr, and Braggins (s.), 23— 20. MASTERTON CLUB. The results of the club fours played to-day by members of the Masterton Club are as follow: — Cresswell, Brown, Rose, Welch (s.) beat Hyde, Hunter, Haycraft, Beale (s.) ; McKay, Shearer, Meston, Thurston (s.) lost to Blewett, Moor, Reid, Hayne (s.) ; Cumming, Gressier, A. Hendry, Wilkinson (s.) lost to Gordon, Wall, Rowlands, Thompson (s.) ; McCracken, Dagg, Welch, Maxwell (s.) lost to Dorset, Robertson, Renall, Perry (s.) ; Weller, lago, McLennan, Morton (s.) beat Guild, Dver, Evan, Nielson (s.). Champion fours: Denbee, Hunter, Evans, Rose (s.) beat Shearer, Reid, | Henderson, Hendry
