FALSE STATEMENT
BOGUS POSTAL TRANSACTION By Telegraph.—Peess Association. Hawera. January 6. Charged with fraudulently stating that he had posted a letter at Hawera containing £l5, Rolfe Ronald Cooke pleaded guilty, and -was committed for sentence at the Supreme Court. According to the postmaster’s evidence, accused, who owed rent to a third party, had signed an official form declaring he had posted a letter addressed to the house owner, giving details of the alleged monetary contents. Interviewed by the police, accused subsequently confessed the story.
